Controls
WASD/Arrows: Movement/Menus
Escape: Open the menu.
Space/Enter: Interact/Select an Option.
Dungeon Exploration
In the dungeon, its up to you to safely navigate the party through its accursed halls. Look for chests to find a variety of useful items.
- Equipment: An weapon, armour piece or accessory, can be equipped by a party member to deal more or take less damage or gain another sort of boon.
- Healing Items: Items that heal HP, MP or statuses.
- Battle Items: Items to be used against enemies in battle.
- Manuals/Tomes: Items that teach a new skill to a unit.
- Stat Boosters: Items that directly boost a unit's stats.
The dungeon also has various enemies to avoid or confront. Sometimes the best move is to come back to a foe with better equipment.
Menu Screen
The menu contains six main options.
- Status: Info on a unit's stats and their equipment.
- Skill: Info on a unit's skill list.
- Item: The party's inventory.
- Quest: Check on requests undertaken. (To be added)
- Option: Change and modify game settings. (To be added)
- Exit: Exit the game. (To be added)
Battle System
Battles are in turns, the unit with the highest Agility attacks first, then the next highest, then the next highest and so. After everyone takes an action, the cycle resets back to the first unit.
NOTE: Some tougher foes will take more than one action each turn, watch out!
On your turn, select one of the five options available to you.
- Attack: Attack with your equipped weapon.
- Guard: Reduce damage taken by about half until your next turn,
- Skills: Spend MP to use an equipped skill.
- Items: Use an item from the party’s inventory.
- Escape: Run from the battle to fight another day. NOTE: Some foes prevent escape altogether!
Attacks, items and skills will target either one or many allies or foes. Also, remember to watch out for elemental weaknesses and resistances. Sometimes having the right skill or equipment can change the outcome of a battle!
Action Types
- Magical: Attack an enemy or enemies with magical damage.
- Support: A non-damaging skill that will help allies or harm enemies.
- Passive: A skill that cannot be selected in battle but gives the unit an additional bonus.
Elements
- Slash: Weapon damage, primarily from Swords, Axes and Daggers.
- Blunt: Weapon damage, primarily from Staves, Maces and Hammers.
- Pierce: Weapon damage, primarily from Lances, Claws and Bows.
- Fire: Elemental damage using the power of Fire.
- Ice: Elemental damage using the power of Ice.
- Electric: Elemental damage using the power of Electric.
- Air: Elemental damage using the power of Air.
- Holy: Elemental damage using the power of Holy.
- Dark: Elemental damage using the power of Dark.
- Cosmic: Almighty damage using the power of the cosmos.
- Healing: Curative power that restores life.
Resistances
- Weakness: Unit takes bonus damage from this element.
- Resistance: Unit takes reduced damage from this element.
- Immunity: Unit takes no damage from this element.
- Absorption: Unit heals from damage of this element.
- Reflection: Unit returns damage of this element back to the user.
